Some
years, I have regularly exercised at the gym. I had attempted
healthy eating. Yet only recently have I ever experienced the level
of health and fitness that I now enjoy.
I had
been putting in the effort but not getting the results.
In mid
1994 I purchased a book on health and fitness written by
Tom Venuto.
As I applied the recommendations and designed my own exercise and
nutrition program, I began to feel healthier and have more energy.
I did
not consider myself overweight, however within a month on the
program I really noticed a significant reduction in the amount of
body fat that I had.
My
daughter has also become fitter. She enjoys eating healthy food and
regular exercise, and is very happy to feel fit and energetic.
I
would never have thought that it would have been possible for me to
remain healthy and strong, yet lose so much fat. Each of previous
attempts at losing weight had caused my health to suffer, and I felt
weak.
In the
way he has written his book, Tom has allowed for the fact that each
person is different. Different fitness goals, different metabolism,
different tastes and different lifestyles.
Here
is some of what I learned from Tom's book

Weight training
and cardio-vascular sessions
I used
to do some cardio and some weight training each session. After
reading Tom's book, I started doing them separately on alternate
days.

Nutrition
I
had mainly the right ideas, but some of my foods, especially the
type of meat I mainly chose had too much fat. I also felt much
better for having given up drinking milk.

Measures
I discovered
the importance of measures other than scales. I was shocked to
discover the "body fat testing machine" at the gym was giving me
hopelessly inaccurate measurement. I was relieved to discover that
the commonly used BMI measurement was misleading me. I was fairly
fit, yet the BMI reading did not indicate that.

Ongoing support
I have received
plenty of useful information. I did however have some questions at
one stage, and Tom promptly responded with answers which really
assisted me.

Very affordable
I found the book excellent value with its
very reasonable price. The program, unlike many others I
previously tried does not call for me to purchase any special
supplements or other expensive items.
